Isn’t that why you started in the first place, because it’s fun?
Yes, it’s hard work and yes, most people making a web series aren’t getting paid a dime, including myself. So, under those conditions, fun’s actually important.
When I’m writing that’s what I’m thinking about a lot of the time - FUN. Writing scenes that will be fun for the actors to do, fun for me to shoot and edit, and fun for an audience to watch. That was my entire goal with the first season - have fun making it, have an audience see it and hopefully that will fun translate. I think it does.
When it’s all over and you’ve made your show, you are the one who decides if it’s successful for yourself, for the reasons you chose to make it - NOBODY ELSE - which is something I would say for any creative endeavor.
If none of the other goals you have for your show are achieved, but you can answer the question - Was it any fun making it? - with a yes, would you still make a show?
